My GTI no longer has temporary license plates and I’ve made my first payment. I love it and have no regrets about purchasing it. It’s fun to drive, comfortable, and practical. My wife likes driving it and the doggos approve too. What more could I ask for? I already think my next car, ten years from now, will be a newer GTI.

one recomendation is your front strap should wrap around the trunk, that way if it slides forward, it grabs tighter.

I see you’re from kind of near me, if you’re ever around the Cincinnati area and see a bright orange/red FoST, it’s probably me. There’s only one other HPR I know of in the area and he’s on the far east side. My hope is one day we can get all the Oppo’s in SW Ohio to join up. Enjoy! The GTI was in a close second finish when I got my first of two ST’s. I think they’re both great cars, really just comes down to personal preference.

Also, interesting to see Ohio going back to having the county on the plate. I always thought that was cool when I was younger.

I bought my second ST in January of this year and did not get the county sticker. I’ve only seen them start popping up in the last 2-3 months or so.

I bought my Camaro just after graduation. It was a bit too much money to spend for a new college grad, but it’s paid for now and I still love it! Can’t beat the feel and noise of a big V8. However, the GTI is a blast to drive and would have been a much more reasonable post graduation reward.

Keep studying and working hard in school . It’ll make driving the car that much more enjoyable once you get there.

FWIW, I kept my Mk5 for 8 years, and the reason it lasted that long was that I couldn’t think of anything I wanted more than another one, but life’s too short to own the same car twice. They don’t wear thin: they’re just very satisfying cars.

Now I’ve got a Skoda Octavia VRS, which is basically just a MK7 GTI with a big ass and a different badge.

I waited until I was 34 to finally splurge on a powerful sports car. Hate that I missed out for so many years, b ut damn if it wasn’t worth the wait... =)
